Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Steel Fitters to join our shipbuilding team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the construction and repair of ship structures, working from detailed European standard blueprints to cut, shape, assemble, and install metal parts.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret European standard shipbuilding blueprints and technical drawings.
Fabricate, position, align, and fit parts of structural metal products.
Use various tools and equipment to cut, form, and join metal components.
Collaborate with other shipyard personnel to ensure precision in the assembly and installation of structural components.
Inspect and test completed units to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipbuilding or a related field.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or completion of an apprenticeship in a relevant trade is highly desirable.
